Backdated money

Hi folks first post hope I do this correctly lol. My child was awarded Scottish child disability payment at lowest rate £26 weekly (will be appealing) I updated this on my journal same day which was around 3 days ago and I informed them the claim had been backdated to 23rd Jan this year. I was told back if I was due any backdated money I would hear back but not heard anything despite asking for updates. We've just moved house and starting from scratch so anything extra would be a good sent. I've heard other people say as soon as they updated the outcome of the child's claim they where paid there backdated money quickly and offered an advance because of a change of circumstances I've also asked about this 2 times over last 4 days but had no response 🙈 should I be worried?

The child disabled element should be included in your next statement, you will need to check. It's not unusual for money owed to take quite a few weeks to pay it. Before they can pay it they will need to recalculate your past statements to work out how much you've been paid against what you should have been paid. You will then receive the difference between the 2.Once it's done you'll receive a letter on your journal telling you how much they owe and it will then be paid into your bank. At the moment, there's nothing to worry about and it's completely normal as you only reported the changes 4 days ago.0
