Hi everyone, I received this text this morning
“The tribunal have reviewed all the information you and DWP have provided and have reached a decision on your PIP appeal.
The decision notice has been posted to you. This has the tribunal's decision and their reasons. You should receive it by 14 July 2023
Please note we cannot give you your decision over the phone. This is to protect your personal information.
PIP Appeals”
im worried as I’ve seen that when people are awarded pip in the past they’ve been given the text including “you have been awarded pip”. Has anyone else had the text I’ve had and received pip? I just don’t want to get my hopes up is all, but this is going to be the longest wait for the 14th July

This is a Tribunal decision and HMCTS do not send text with decisions, even if the decision is in your favour.I'm assuming this was a paper based decision because you opted not to attend in person or have a telephone/video hearing? If you were able to track your appeal online there maybe some information on there. If you didn't then you'll need to wait for the decision letter, which you should receive soon.0

yes it was paper based, I just couldn’t face doing the tribunal in any way, so wrote as much as possible and gave as much evidence as I could to make up for that
i opted to track my appeal, I went on the website and it just says that the appeal has closed. Looked on the hearing decisions tab and it just has my adjournment letter from before, so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see
thank you for your help0 -
Yes only when awarded by DWP. For Tribunal decisions once DWP have put any award into payment then you may receive a text. If the Tribunal decision has only recently been made then it may take a while to update. For Tribunal hearings you could have requested a telephone hearing, rather than appear in person. The chances of success for telphone/video and in person are considerably higher than paper based.0
