Does anyone else think that since Lewis Hamilton is now a "has been" - he should have his knighthood removed and it should be given to Lando Norris ?

Hamilton is the greatest F1 driver in history as his record shows. The most wins, 7 world championships and the most poles. Is that a has been  :/  Every bodies reign comes to an end at some point.... The boy did good, and what on earth has Norris won?

Yes and also take away sir Alex Ferguson, sir Michael Caine and sir Andy Murray, especially sir Andy Murray because he lost recently at Wimbledon 😑

What's the point of this post ? 🤷

I'm hoping there's a point behind it because it's kinda dumb to ask that question.

The point is that I don't believe that anyone should get a knighthood simply for doing their own job - no matter how well they do it!
Hamilton has made many £millions through his ability to drive......

So what do you think a knighthood is?  @Wibbles

Knighthoods should be given to people who do extraordinary things not for driving a car whilst being paid millions at the same time

As Knighthoods are presented for major contributions to their industry, nationally and internationally I don't see how you can take it off him ?  Fair enough if he's found out to have done something to bring his character into disrepute ... but until then ...

He's achieved what he has ... it's like my wife divorcing me, because I'm not the man I was when we met

And what do you call an extraordinary thing to do? @Wibbles I reckon driving round those racetracks at over 200 miles an hour is quite extraordinary.. and takes skill. Oh and all the work he does for charity.  I wouldn't call the likes of say Jeffery Archer who wrote a few books then went to prison for tax dodging  worthy of the knighthood honor, lets just strip everyone of their titles  ;)

Oh and by the way your 1st post asked do we give Hamilton's knighthood to Norris.... what has Norris done?

I actually liked the diary's of Jeffrey archer in prison @vikingqueen I think we should take away Anthony Hopkins knighthood and give it to archer 😁

All joking aside from his accomplishments in F1 and philanthropy he deserves it. And as @WelshBlue said unless something goes badly wrong for Hamilton in his personal life he will keep it.

Should put up a post and ask people who there favourite knights are or what is deserving of a knight @Wibbles.

Well done Hamilton, 14th podium at the British Grand Prix, and well done to Norris, a well fought race.

Sorry - but knighthoods appear to be handed out almost willy nilly nowadays...
Many people (ex MP's for example) certainly do not deserve them
And neither do many people who are paid huge amounts to do a job that then gives them a knighthood - that's their job, they are simply doing what they are paid to do - OK maybe they are good at it - but a KNIGHTHOOD ?
