I am severely sight impaired, I lost my sight about three years ago in my early fifties and struggle with the mental challenges it has brought. I am generally positive but sometimes need a vit of support

yes I do, I have an amazing family who all help. As my kids still live at home I was really focused on keeping things normal after my sight loss. I returned to work and that really helps. My colleague s help a lot. Sometimes, when a few things go wrong in a row I feel useless and it all overwhelms me. Most of the time I am ok, it just sometimes builds up and my self confidence is gone. It’s something I find hard to talk to family about sometimes s.0

Yes, I had counselling in the beginning but I am thinking of trying again now. Things have moved on and different things worry me so it ,might help. I found before I didn’t really get many strategies to help but I might be in a better position to know what I am looking for now..0

I am not sure whether to go to RNIB for specialised sight loss counselling or normal nhs route as obviously other things cause me stress other than just the sight loss .0

Thanks I am good. I am hoping to find some people to chat to. However much I am surrounded by people I can still feel isolated. I really hate being the one that needs help. It’s hard to accept . But I am sure others feel similar0
