Life in a wheelchair

Good evening.
I have a physical disability and am coming to terms with the fact that i may be using a wheelchair in the future , im independant and live alone.
It would be helpful to find out what life is like if your unable to walk and use a wheelchair.

    Good evening.
    I'm reaching out for some geninue assistance , I have a physical disability meaning im unable to walk freely , i use a walking frame all the time and there may be a time in the future where I need to use a wheelchair.
    It would be helpful to find out what life is like for wheelchair users and also what help and support is available , I'm independant and live alone.

    If you feel you need additional support around home, you can apply for a home assessment. They will come out and assess what equipment and adaptations can be made to your home to help. 

    The NHS website says:
    These changes can be small or big and include:
    • fitting a stairlift or a banister on the stairs
    • adding a bath lift, walk-in shower or a rail you hold to pull yourself out of the bath (grab rail)
    • widening doorways
    • lowering kitchen worktops
    • putting in an outdoor ramp or step rail
    • security, such as outside lights and intercom systems
    I'd also encourage you to speak to your GP about the possibility of needing a wheelchair and see what information they could give you :)
