Hi everyone, new here, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice, I've been accepted for lcwra but when does the 3 month period start, is it the first day of health change which would be the 28th March 23 for me or would it be first day of sick note which would be the 9th may 23 for me? Just wondering when to expect the first payment, if it helps we normally get paid on the 29th and I believe our periods are 23rd to the 22nd. Any help would be much appreciated. Tia

    It's starts from when you first reported your health condition, providing you sent a fit note within 7 days of that. If you reported your health condition on 28th March but didn't send a fit note until 9th May then there could be issues with that and they may not accept that gap.

    If they accept the gap then your waiting period will be April to July.. LCWRA starts from 23rd July to 22nd July and first payment will be 29th July.

    If they go from when you sent your fit note on 9th May then your waiting period will be May to Aug.. LCWRA starts from AP Aug/Sept and first payment will be 29th Sept.

    It will be down to a decision maker to decide when it's paid from.

    Thank you for your help lovely, if I asked on my journal would they be able to tell me when I should start receiving it? Or is it a bit too soon as I only received the letter on my journal yesterday? Sorry this is all completely new to me, thank you

    The 3-month period for LCWRA starts from your health change on 28th March 23.

    That only applies if you provided a fit note within 7 days of reporting your health condition. In this case the fit note wasn't reported until 9th May, therefore this may affect when the LCWRA element is paid from.

    Thank you everyone, i have asked on my journal but as usual I'm still waiting for someone to acknowledge my question let alone answer it lol thank you both for your replies hopefully I receive an answer from them soon 😊
