As I have had an assessment couple weeks ago, they called me on Friday to confirm my identity and bank details and said that it will be made decision.

Is it a sign they'll award me? Do they text you for award or send a post letter.

It can be an indication there maybe an award but they could have also just been checking they have the correct details. Unfortunately, we can only guess.

They will always send a decision letter. If there's an award they sometimes send a text if it's a first time claim but not always.

Thanks. Do they send payment right away before letter arrives. But its hard to tell though if they want to confirm my identity and bank details over the phone unless they make decision right away.

Money owed usually arrives in your bank before the decision letter is received. If awarded once payment is sent it takes 3-5 working days to go into your bank.

So if I spoke to them on Friday, I should receive it by Monday?

No because Saturday and Sunday are not working days. If you were awarded and payment was sent Friday you should receive it by Thursday. If no decision is made or there's no award then you won't receive it.

Hi @ibbydre33. Working days are usually classed as Monday to Friday, so don't include the weekends.
If they sent a payment to you on Friday, 3-5 working days would be Wednesday or Friday. Hope you hear from them or receive a payment soon.

Yes, you will receive sms confirmed that you worded PIP, then you will receive the money in your bank account, after that you will receive the letter.

Not everyone receives a text message if they've been awarded. If there's no award there's no text.

Once the assessment report was returned a decision can take anything up to 12 weeks.

There were no text messages ever sent when i first claimed PIP 10 years ago. Hundreds of threads on here will tell you that my advice is correct.

They refused me. What's the best way to appeal? Call them?

The first stage of appeal is a Mandatory Reconsideration, where another decision maker looks at everything you've sent in again. This should definitely be put in writing, putting your name & National Insurance number on each page.

You should write about those activities/descriptors where you feel you should have gained points, & why.

If you didn't do so with your claim form &/assessment then give a couple of detailed examples as to the difficulty you had in doing/attempting these reliably (thinking about the time of your assessment). This means when did it happen, where, what actually happened, did anyone see this, & were there any consequences?

No, you should put it in writing. Mandatory Reconsideration is the first step. You should state where and why you think you should have scored those points.

When you filled out the form if you didn't give a couple of real world incidents of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each descriptor that applies to you then you should do that now. Add detailed information such as where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were. You should aim for at least half an A4 side of paper per descriptor that applies to you.

Do be aware that they will not take into consideration any worsening of condition. MR timescales are up to 12 weeks. The most likely outcome will be the decision doesn't change. If this happens you can proceed to Tribunal.

You have 1 month from the date of the decision to request it. If you're outside of this timescale you'll need to tell them when you're late requesting it.

Thanks so much for the information. Whilst I'm doing the MR it sent me to MR page where it asked my "When is your Mandatory Reconsideration Notice (MRN) dated?" Is this the decision letter that they sent me? I'm really confused. Not sure what to do.

That's to request the Tribunal and you're not at that stage yet. You can't request that without first going through the Mandatory Reconsideration process.
