Hi Everybody - Just some advice please if you can help me and thank you in anticipation.
My partner has just been awarded PIP (both elements) and the Award Notice is dated 01/07/2023 backdated to mid March. I have started to complete the online form for CA and am looking at the Section to claim further back than 3 months.  The question I am asked is "When did you start providing care?". I find it hard to give an exact date.  Any advice on how to answer this question.
Thanks

I'd write the date your partner was awarded PIP from.

Thank You - I was thinking that, but then thought that answer would seem "too coincidental" (Excuse me as I am so cynical).

Are you claiming any other benefits?

No - I am not.  My partner receives contributions based ESA .....

Is that the old contributions based ESA or New style ESA? Do you work? Sorry for all the questions but just trying to see if there's any entitlement to either an Income Related top on his ESA or Universal Credit.

No worries - thanks for your help.
No I don't work but get an Occupational Pension.
Im sure its old style ESA.
Don't think we would qualify for UC as its means tested  . . . And we are above criteria.

Thank you for that information. With your pension then it would reduce any entitlement to the Income Related top up on his ESA. As well as reducing any entitlement to UC £1 for £1. Also with savings/capital of more than £16,000 would exclude you both.

Thank You for your time . . . . This benefit system is a minefield to me.
