Hi everyone, I called to apply for pip this morning and was sent an email and did the whole form online, I didn't even know this was a thing I thought it was the same as the uc lcwra where you notify them and they send you out a paper form? Is this new and does anyone have any experiences of doing it this way? I've had a confirmation email saying they've got it.

Some people are offered to apply online but not everyone. Returning the form in the same day you received it is exceptionally quick. Usually takes me a few weeks to include all the information i need to.

I've spent the past few weeks writing down what I wanted to say and include otherwise I'd forget so I'd already seen the form and done it and it was literally a case of almost copy and pasting when I had 10 minutes on a good day when I'm not too distracted. Otherwise I'd probably have to ask for an extension. I have to say I wish they'd do the online for everyone because it makes including your evidence and filling out so much easier and it must be easier for them to read as I know my handwriting is atrocious because I constantly have the shakes so being about to type is much easier.0

That's great to hear that you did all of that before applying! Nothing worse than applying first and then panicking when you receive the forms because you don't know what to write in them.I've never personally seen the digital application forms because when i applied for myself and daughter they weren't available back then. Review forms aren't available digitally. I've heard mixed reviews from others that have applied this way, some bad and some good. Not everyone gets the opportunity to do this, which is why i don't usually advise that you can apply this way.0

The lady on the phone just said its easier and would I like to do it that way and because its hard for me to get out I thought why not, yes this is it I've not long done the uc50 lcwra and literally sent it off so close to the send back date and I was about to have surgery and it was just so stressful so I thought this time I'm going to go in being prepared especially because I'm one of the annoying ones that will downplay everything and I knew I couldn't do that here I needed to be realistic and tell them how much it does actually affect me so I thought well if I write it all out beforehand I won't get as stressed. Tbh I recommend doing so beforehand to anyone especially if you can be a bit scatterbrained like myself it does help a lot0

Hi guys just a little update, I received a text last week saying to remember my telephone assessment on the 12/09 I then a few days later received 2 letters telling me of the appointment. The telephone appointment took an hour and went quite well I believe. The lady at the end said that she'd write her report and send it off and I should have a decision within 8 weeks. So everything seems to be moving much quicker on their end as I know last time when I applied people were still being told 12-16 weeks.0

Hi guys just another quick update I've just had a text to say dwp have received my report and that I'll receive a decision within 8 weeks, does it normally work that fast? And when can I ask for a copy of my report? Thank you.0

@bethanylynn It may be a standard text now you've had your assessment. I would give it a week or so before asking just in case!0

Hi guys just an update, I had a text this morning saying I have been accepted for standard daily living component with an award until September 2026, I believe I should have received more points but honestly can't be bothered to fight it as they say something is better than nothing and if it gets worse which it no doubt shall by the time of my review hopefully they can sort it out then. So all in all not been too long of a process and a fairly decent outcome. There's hope guys!0

Thanks for updating @bethanylynn and congratulations on the award. There's no rush to make a decision right away, if you sit with it for a few days and once you receive your decision letter see how you feel about appealing if you don't think you've been awarded correctly.
