Hi all
Any advice appreciated. My father passed away last month. He had a pension with the Miners pension scheme, he was a widow, I'm his eldest daughter and also his executor. Does anyone know if I will receive anything back from this? Or would it of been for his late wife, my mum, had she of been alive.
Also if its over a certain amount , will that affect my benefits, And would it be OK to use any of it towards a new house with the sale of the house he also left me if I decide to sell and purchase another house? I'm on income related esa and pip.
Thanks in advance

Hello @Trayr111
Sorry it has taken a while to reply. My condolences on the loss of your father. My condolences, I hope you all have support around you? I would encourage you to reach out to Citizen's Advice. They have a page on Dealing with the financial affairs of someone who has died, which you may find helpful to read.
Scope also has an information page on Inheritance and Benefits, with Income Related ESA being one that could be effected.0 -
So sorry to hear this @Trayr111, I imagine it's a lot being the executor. How are you getting on?0

I think allowing yourself to grieve at the same time is really key @Trayr111, though I recognise the large responsibility you have at the same time as trying to handle your own thoughts and feelings. Glad to hear you are getting on better than you were and feel a lot more informed now - that certainly helps to give you the confidence needed to make the right decisions. Please don't hesitate to let us know though if you wish to talk about this further or if you have any questions etc0
