Hello and thank you for having me.
I was awarded LCWRA today 03.08.2023.
I first reported a fit note on 30.01.2023. my assessment periods run from the 4th - 3rd of the month and I receive my UC payment on the 10th of the month.
Am I correct in thinking that I will receive back pay from the May assessment period onwards (so Feb, March, April waiting period) or since I reported it in the January assessment period does that count towards the waiting time?
Thanks in advance for your help! 🙌🏻

Jan doesn't count because you reported it in the middle of the AP. It has to be 3 full assesment periods. Your waiting period will be Feb to May.. LCWRA element starts from AP 4th May to 3rd June and first payment will be 10th June. PIP is paid 1 month in arrears so first payment will be the end of the 4th month.Money owed will be paid separately to your usually monthly money and often takes quite a few weeks to pay what is owed. You will need to check your next statement to make sure the element is included. My advice assumes you're not claiming UC with a partner that already receives the LCWRA element on your claim.1
