PIP APPEAL was definitely worth the fight

Timeline sent review form back in October 2021 waited nearly 18 months for an assessment which I had in March 2023.
Phoned for copy of assessment report and I could see that it looked like I would be awarded low mobility and lose my daily living. Long story short my MP got involved and I was then awarded back my low rate daily living and low rate Mobility.
Did a mandatory reconsideration and as I suspected nothing changed so with the help of my local citizens advice did the APPEAL which DWP needed to respond to by 8th August to the tribunal, I had an unexpected call from DWP on Tuesday and the lady asked me a few questions and at the end of the call she said that the decision would be changed and I would now be awarded low rate daily living and enhanced mobility and the extra for the mobility would be backdated from October 2021 so will be receiving a lump sum of around £4000.
DON’T GIVE UP it’s hard don’t get me wrong but my story has proved that it can be worth the fight but it is very stressful.

    Yes it is now such a relief but we shouldn’t have to fight for what is rightfully what we should have been given in the beginning, I am hoping that others will carry on with their journey albeit a long journey definitely.

    I totally hear you @te1 - it is a relief when we win the fight but we shouldn't have to fight in the first place. How are you feeling about everything at the moment?  :)
