Hi,i got a messag e today from the DWP stating "We have received your enquiry about your ESA,YOU don't need to call us.Payment will be paid on 11/08/23"

I have been in contact with the DWP for a long time and I am already in receipt of ESA,so i was puzzled by this message. At the moment,my PIP is being reviewed, but there is a long backlog and i've been told it will be paid automatically until next year..

The questions i have are..

1.Why did the DWP send me this text, when things are moving along as normal?
2.Should i contact them, even though there is no change at all in my circumstances.?

Thanks.

I have no idea why you received that text when it's a PIP review you're going through. Yes, you will need to contact them to ask what it's related to.

hi I have just received this txt message today. I haven’t sent an enquiry, does anyone know what this is about? Or some kind of scam? Thanks

Have you applied for PIP recently, or had an existing PIP claim reviewed?

They are currently progressing my pip review. But I haven’t sent them any enquiries about esa?

The same happened to me when I was awarded PIP. I was also getting New Style ESA.

The PIP award triggered ESA to look at my claim again, in case any extra ESA is due (there is a Severe Disability Premium paid in some circumstances with IR ESA).

Even though my ESA doesn't pay premiums, they still looked again at the award in case it did.
