PIP Assessment Notification.

Hi all, 

I had my phone based assessment last week, but haven't received a text saying it's been received by the DWP. 

Is this normal? Thanks xxx

    The report may have been chosen for audit, which does happen sometimes. If it has, it's nothing to worry about. They are just checking the assessor did their job correctly. The only annoying thing about it is it delays the decision making process.

    Seems like it's in an audit. You can ring the health assessment providers to ask and if it is they will tell you.

    Mine went to audit and was received by the dwp a week later, not everyone gets a text maybe give them a ring to see what’s happened. I know it can be stressful with waiting etc I’ve now got approximately 12 weeks left to wait for a decision I’m not very hopeful for the outcome

    Just spoken with Capita, they've sent it off to the DWP on the 1st of August so they've had it just over a week now.

    If your concerned you could give pip a ring to confirm they have received it

    Not everyone does receive a text confirmation, it's sent over electronically from the HCP to DWP. It won't be lost.

    Received a letter yesterday, saying they have all they need to make a decision. 

    I'm hoping it's this week, they've had it since the 1st :)

    Update for folks. 

    Spoke to PIP today they've confirmed they're working through a backlog from last year and that my report hasn't been sent to an assessment provider yet for a decision 

    He said "A few more weeks".

    Reports are sent to a decision maker, along with all your other supporting evidence and they then make a decision. Assessment providers are responsible for writing reports, not making decisions.

    An update for you all, had my assessment on the 27th of July the report was sent to the DWP on the 1st of Sep.

    Nothing since then. 

    Spoken with the PIP helpline twice, who said they have it but they have an enormous back log and are working through them at date order.
