Carers allowance stopped because my daughter forgot to respond about the PIP review

Hello 

My adult daughter has autism, adhd and anxiety and depression and I'm her carer and in receipt of carers allowance. I also have my granddaughter, her daughter,  live with me half the time. 

However my carers allowance payment didn't go in on Monday. 

I called the carers allowance phone number and they said my account has been closed which is the first I'd heard of it. They asked if my daughter's PIP was being reviewed. I did not know if that was the case as she never mentioned it.

I phoned my daughter and she suddenly remembered she had a text about PIP on 28th of June about a review. They said forms would be sent in a few weeks but they never arrived and she then forgot all about them which is part of her mental health issues.

She had informed UC about her change of address in March when she moved and assumed all departments would know about the change but is now wondering if the PIP forms went to her old address but they never text again to say she needed to send them back etc so that initial first text was the only communication she'd had.

Do you have any advice about expediting this issue as its clearly a big hit for me to lose out on my carers allowance with no warning?

Is my daughter going to have her PIP stopped too?

I'm considering becoming an appointee to help take over her benefits. I'm also awaiting an assessment for adhd and have my struggles with my MH etc but my daughter just cannot cope with it all. 

Any advise would be hugely appreciated.

    UC do not share information with PIP and she should have reported the change of address with PIP as well. It’s highly likely the form went to her old address. 

    She will need to ring PIP on Monday and tell them her new address. As your carers allowance has stopped this will be because they’ve stopped her PIP. 

    You will need to contact PIP if you would like to become her appointee.

    Thanks Poppy. Yes the forms went to her old address and have been resent. Her PIP has been stopped too. Will I have to reapply for carers allowance from scratch do you know?

    Once the form has been returned they may restart her PIP but she'll need to ring to ask. Yes, you'll need to reapply for carers allowance. Are you claiming any other benefits yourself? If so, which ones?
