Hello !!
So I recently had to move from IS to UC following my daughter hitting 5.
I was awarded pip, severe disability premiums all while on IS.
I applied to for UC on the 26th of may I included my disabilities on the form and had sick notes from this date until I was assessed.
I had to use advances until my payments were set up. Not sure if that info is relevant so just incase.
I was finally assessed and decision was I am in LCWRA category on the 30th of July.
On the 31st I was told I was owed money 313 of transitional payment protection back pay and it would be added to future payments.
Since then I haven’t been informed of the payment outcome of the decision on LCWRA and how that affects everything.
Does the transitional payments end?
Does my money go up due to the decision of my disability?
Will there be back pay ? Or am I not entitled due to the transitional protection payment ?
When are they likely to send payments ?
I have received my statement for the 27th of July -26th of August payment due the 3rd of September; which includes standard allowance, child, housing and transitional protection payments.
Than the minus of my advances debts.
So there is no mention of LCWRA or anything different.
If anyone could help I would be so grateful this is all so new to me and I hate not knowing where I stand and what’s happening.
Thankyou so much.

The LCWRA element is paid from the 4th month after you reported your health condition. This is because there's a full 3 month assessment period waiting time. It's not paid at all during the waiting period.Your waiting period will be May/June, June/July, July/August.. LCWRA starts from assessment period 27th August to 26th Sept and first payment will be 3rd October. However the Transitional Protection erodes over time, this means that if other elements increase or are added then the TP decreases. When the LCWRA element is added because it's £390.06/month this will erode your TP completely. You will only be better off by the difference between your TP and the LCWRA element, which is £76.27/month.0

Even if you weren't receiving TP there still wouldn't be anything owed, as i advised here.poppy123456 said:The LCWRA element is paid from the 4th month after you reported your health condition.
