Residential Placement for Primary Schooler

I am a single mom with twin boys aged 8. One of my twins has severe autism. He is non-verbal, has epilepsy and prone to aggression. I don't have any family or friends to support me where I live. It has become increasingly difficult with my son and is starting to really hurt my mental health and my NT son's health. I have come to the unfortunate realization that I cannot do this much longer and have to look for a different solution for my autistic son. I live in London and am hoping to understand how to secure a residential placement for my son. Can anyone here help guide me. Please be kind in your responses as this is not an easy decision as a mother.

    Welcome to the community. I know that must not be an easy decision for you. I'm so sorry to hear you have to make a decision like that. 

    The NHS has an information page on Children and young people's care and support services that you may find helpful to read. But you will start with a needs assessment, which could open up more options for you and your children that could be beneficial. 

    Can I ask, you said you have no support, but do you have someone to talk to?

    I hope the community can be a place of support for you <3 I also wanted to mention SHOUT who are a brilliant 24/7 texting mental health service, if you feel you need someone to talk to.
