Is it normal to be waiting over 5 weeks for a decision. It was a paper based assessment and report suggested enhanced for both . I know it is still up to the decision maker if they go with assessment

Unfortunately, all you can do now is wait. You should expect a decision within 12 weeks, occasionally longer.
If they do go with the report (or give an award of any rate for that matter), this will be backdated to the date you phoned to apply. You normally receive a back payment before receiving a decision letter, keep an eye on your bank account for this.
I hope you hear some positive news soon.0 -
It's been 6 weeks 3 days since my assessment.
Nothing either.0 -

@Hannahmarie1234 @UkGuy94 hope you both get a decision soon the waiting is horrible anxiety up the wall I’m still waiting for a assessment no news yet and just seeing how long it can take for a decision is making me even more anxious I’ve been waiting 7 weeks up to now since they received my form don’t know how much longer but I feel like if it taking this long for a assessment then the decision will be even longer0

The wait is awful. I hope you all hear soon and the outcome is what you want.0

Thank you Hannah . My head is not in a good place at the min and all this waiting isn't helping my mental health x0

@zoet1
Aww you still waiting for your assessment.?
And its pointless phoning them because they only tell you what they think you want to hear.
And everyone you speak to tells you something different. How you feeling x0 -

@Hannahmarie1234 yeah I’m still waiting heard nothing yet my anxiety is through the roof atm and with the stress I’ve been ill the last two weeks yeah I know that’s why I haven’t called as they will just say someone will be in touch with a appointment so it’s pointless but after seeing how long your decision is taking I’m thinking there’s another long wait hopefully you hear something next week 🤞0

@zoet1
Aww I hope your on the mend very soon the waiting does make you ill and if you didn't have mental health issues before the claim you certainly will before the end .
I know they say it can be up to 12 weeks before you have a decision but when you see some people having a assessment and having their decision within a week of so it then makes your anxiety worse and you think because it's taking so long it must be bad news. I have never felt so anxious in my whole life as I am over this claim and if I get refused I don't think I could go through this any longer .0
