Won PIP tribunal enhanced mobility

Hi

I won my PIP tribunal today and was awarded enhanced rates on mobility and daily living, can't explain the feeling of having this lifted of my shoulders.

I have a question about the mobility scheme, do I have to apply and when can I apply. Can I apply like tomorrow? And any advice would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks
John-Paul

Great news. For the mobility scheme you need to wait for your award to be put into payment by DWP before you can join the scheme. Once you have the award letter from DWP you can take this to a dealer of your choice and order a vehicle. Once you take delivery of the vehicle then your mobility payment will be paid to motability.

Lots of information on the motability website. https://www.motabilityfoundation.org.uk/ Some vehicles have an advance payment that needs to be paid before you collect the vehicle so be aware of that. You can also check what's available on the website linked above.

It can take anything up to 8 weeks for DWP to pay what is owed and to put the award into payment.

    Hello @Floydiee1995

I was really anxious too my tribunal was by video call also. You will get a call from a private number about an hour before to give you details on how to join the video chat.

Once you're in the video chat you can do a test to see if the video and sound is ok, then you join as a guest and wait till they are ready I waited for about 15mins. They was really friendly and explained everything, you can break anytime if you feel uncomfortable etc.
You'll be asked a few questions then they will put you back into the virtual waiting room why they make they'll decision about 10 mins I waited. They did say tho if they run out of time I would fine out by post but luckily I was told on the day.
    Hope that helps.

@Oaks79 thank you for your reply! Oh so it was pretty straight forward for you then! I have heard others can go on for longer and be quite gruelling so I won’t get my hopes up there! Fingers crossed then and hopefully mine goes just as smooth as yours 😊

Had my tribunal this morning and within 30 minutes I have been awarded standard daily living and enhanced mobility! Wasn’t actually as bad as I thought! I did have a solicitor though who was absolutely fantastic!

    Well done on the award

The only thing that upsets me with this is that while they can give you backdated money they can't backdate your Motability car which is worth far more than the £71 a week

Still I am glad to hear of the positive result
