Has anyone experience of IPES?
I suffer from severe depression and anxiety. I started on uc in jan and work coach said i had to wait 3 months submitting fit notes to trigger the esa claim i kept submitting fit notes and finally got the wca form in may and returned it in june on time and now waiting for a decision/ or appointment date.
My work coach who surprisingly has actually been very nice and helpful (she has a son with autsim/ocd) said she will refer me to ipes saying it would help me.  I did a little research online and from what i can tell it does look helpful to people but it definately doesnt look like it will be for me at the moment, as i can barely get any interest motivation in anything at all, hardly leave the house and struggle with every everyday things people do.
I read i think that Ipes is voluntary so i thought i would say that i think it sounds like a good helpful thing but that im definately not ready for it yet.

I think she thinks im capable of a lot more than i am just because i manage to get out the house etc once a month and seem "normal when im there"

has anyone any thought on Ipes

Hey @pereto. I do not have experience of IPES but I am hoping if our community members do they will be able to respond to you soon. It is ok if something does not work for you. Nothing works for everyone and it is really important to find what does work for you (often by narrowing down what does not work!). It sounds like you are really struggling at the moment. Is there anything you feel might help?  :)

Hi @pereto, I'm sorry that either we've not yet had someone here experience IPES or any member who has experienced it does not feel comfortable enough to talk about it. Which is perfectly fine, only discuss what you feel comfortable about.

To at least try and answer your question I found this information about IPES from the Shaw Trust, another equality charity.

    Hi Thankyou Jimm scope
that was a helpful article,  my work coach mentioned it again this week and said its an expensive program that the jcp doesnt like putting people forward for. i still think it would be very helpful to me but just not at this time im not ready for it. i found some more information on gov website and it turns out ipes is actually voluntary even if your referred for/to it you can say no to it.  when they bring it up again i will post here how i got on saying no to it at this moment in time for me
