    Hi everyone

I hope you are all keeping well.

I didn't want to leave this another thread with no comeback.

I have been awarded, higher rates than previous given my worsening conditions, I now have the written notice of this.

Unfortunately I haven't been backdated and I really don't have the fight left in me to try and see if they'd possibly give me some of it so I will leave it.

I've been given a 8 year award, had hoped for a lifelong one as it was noted I'm worser this time and that my condition isn't likely to improve.

    I accept that though.

I want to say thank you for all the times you all replied, messaged me and checked in on me, I'm now on stronger medication to try and help my anxiety.
I think this forum is great and one day I will come back.

I was initially paying around 5% council tax, I'm hoping due to the increase they might now wavier it all, but unsure.

    Thank you again

Hi @AnxiousUK - pleased to read you now have a higher award than previously. Unfortunately it does seem a bit random whether claimants get any backdated monies with a review, or not, comparitively recently. It used to be that claimants just got an award from the date a new decision was made (which helped both ways if a claimant received a lower award with a review).
Some do get an 'ongoing award,' which it seems will be reviewed to see how much help a claimant needs in 10 years, so still not lifelong, unfortunately.
Hope your stress will now reduce, & that your stronger anxiety meds will help too. And thank you for letting us all know how you got on.
