Hi I’m almost 55 and would like to withdraw a one off 3000 from my pension pot it’s all that is in there ,
I get esa support and I am a joint claim for universal credit, with my partner who is also in the support group ,
what I need to know is will it get deducted from our monthly claim or will it get classed as savings

A lump sum will be classed as capital. If this increases your capital to more than £6,000 then it will affect your UC and there will be a £4.35/month deduction for every £250 or part there of over £6,000. For savings of more than £16,000 entitlement to all means tested benefits ends.Your ESA won’t be affected because it’s not means tested.0
