Can I receive adult disability payment (ADP) with no fixed abode?

Hello, I am currently receiving Adult Disability Payment in Scotland. We have sold up and plan to live in a motor home for the next 12 months whilst looking for a new home. Does anyone know about continuing to receive ADP whilst essentially no fixed abode?

    Yes, you can continue to claim ADP. If you move from Scotland then you would need to claim PIP but i'm unsure of what the actual proceedure for this would be.

    Thank you for your reply. The issue is we will mostly living in our Motor Home for around 12 months whilst we find our final home, with periods staying in temporary accommodation like self catering, hotels and family/friends. I know if we permanently live in England I will have to apply for PIP but I am hoping that until this happens I can continue to claim ADP and I was wondering if anyone else had done this with essentially no fixed abode whilst looking for their next home?

    Does anyone know if you automatically get accepted for PIP in England if you have already been granted ADP in Scotland and you move from Scotland down South?

    Having no fixed abode will make no difference to any benefits you currently claim, including ADP. If you move out of Scotland permanently then your ADP will continue to be paid for 13 weeks, this is known as the "run on period" after this time your ADP will end. If you don't contact Social Security Scotland to tell them you've moved any payments after the 13 week period will be treated as an overpayment.     You will need to start a claim for PIP, it's not an automatic transfer.
