Second £150 Disability COL Payment?

3 people in a group I’m in said they have £150 pending in their banks for Tuesday 3rd October. Under ‘DWP COL PAYMENT - £150’ and they’ve already received their £150 back in June/July.
But I didn’t know we was due another DLA/PIP COL payment? So I googled it, and apparently we will be getting £150 on top of every upcoming COL payments (if you’re on a certain disability payment) 🤦🏻♀️ someone help me out🤣🙈
“Disabled people on low incomes in receipt of means-tested benefits may previously have been eligible for £301 this Spring, and stand to be eligible for a further £300 this autumn and £299 in spring 2024. The £150 payment will be made on top of these Cost of Living Payments, with disabled people who wouldn’t qualify for the means-tested support, but who are in receipt of disability support, also receiving the payment.”
So; am I right in thinking us whom are on pip/dla will get an extra £150 in Autumn from the £300 and the £299 in Spring 2024?
I’m confused. 😮💨

I'm not aware of any extra disability CoL payment. The only one i know of is the one we've already had this year. There was another one for last year. Full details of all CoL payments are here. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/cost-of-living-payment#payment-dates-for-the-disability-cost-of-living-paymentWinterGirl4 said:

If you have received a disability cost of living payment this year, you won't get another (assuming they don't announce anymore for next year which is highly unlikely). If you are paid another, this will need to be paid back. The only reason anyone would receive one now is a disability benefit being backdated (for either themselves or someone who's claim they manage such as a child's DLA claim).

I assume you are referring to this part here which was at the bottom:
Disabled people on low incomes in receipt of means-tested benefits may previously have been eligible for £301 this spring, and stand to be eligible for a further £300 this autumn and £299 in spring 2024. The £150 payment will be made on top of these Cost of Living Payments, with disabled people who wouldn’t qualify for the means-tested support, but who are in receipt of disability support, also receiving the payment.
It means, in simple terms, that the £150 payment is completely separate. The majority of people who receive PIP also receive a means-tested such as ESA and UC. I don't receive an income-related benefit but received £150 as I claim PIP.0 -

WinterGirl4 said:So how can you explain the 3 people who have already had their COL payments in June/July that are expecting ANOTHER in 2 days?
The only payment of £150 which is upcoming is the Warm Home Discount for some although this is paid directly to your supplier and wouldn't have DWP COL as a bank reference even if it was paid directly.0 -

Did any of them miss a payment earlier this year? I know the government acknowledged they missed some payments and so set up a method of reporting if you'd been missed. Report a missing Cost of Living Payment - GOV.UK (dwp.gov.uk).
The government is also giving out £150 for those on winter fuel payments Winter Fuel Payment: How much you'll get - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk). Not sure if that is paid as a lump sum or not to be honest, if someone who knows could clarify. As well as the Warm Home Discount that bg844 mentions above. The amounts listed include a ‘Pensioner Cost of Living Payment’. This is between £150 and £300. You’ll get this extra amount in winter 2023 to 2024.

There must be a reason why those people received this payment as in a recent disability benefit award or the payment has been made in error. Was this facebook or tiktok you seen this?1 -

I thought so. There's clearly something wrong here or they are not telling you all the details. I'm just a little concerned that you'll be waiting for a payment that isn't going to arrive.I've been a member of some FB benefits groups in the past and it was shocking, so bad in fact i left the group.2

Hopefully it gets cleared up, I'd certainly be surprised if the government just started giving money out without making a big announcement about it.
Also I deleted the duplicate comment, just incase you're wondering where it went! It happens sometimes, I do it myself too.1
