LCWRA

Hi. The dwp awarded me LCWRA due to my mental health disability just this year at around June time. Both my husband and I were on Universal Credit at the time. My husband just recently started working again so the UC payments have stopped however I am baffled as to my my LCWRA paymen has stopped as well?! It wasn't a joint claim, it was just for me but was being paid out in addition to the UC. Should I query this? Has anyone else had a similar experience? Feeling really anxious about this. I popped a msg in the UC journal but no one has responded yet...

UC is a means tested benefit so you will have been claiming as a couple if you live with your husband. LCWRA is part of UC, it's not a benefit paid on it own. It makes up part of your maximum UC entitlement. You can't claim this on it's own, that's not how it works. You will have the work allowance, which is either £379/month if you claim for help with the rent or £631/month if you don't. Any earnings up to this amount will be ignored. After this the earnings will reduce your UC by 55%.Whether there's any entitlement to UC will depend on your joint circumstances. You can use a benefits calculator to check if the zero amount is correct but you'll need to make sure you put all the correct details into it. https://www.entitledto.co.uk/benefits-calculator
