Hi I am claiming pip as I am awaiting a full hip replacement
I got the full mobility but standard everyday living
My claim runs out January 2024
I've just been told that I will need a full new knee replacement and I have arthritis in my other hip
Should I tell dwp or wait till my claim is ready for renewal
Thanks

You should never report changes unless you either fully understand the PIP descriptors and what they mean and you've had a look to see if more points can be scored for a higher award.
Or you've got some expert advice to check you can score more points. A worsening of condition or a condition that's waiting for treatment is not a reason to report changes.

As advised by poppy, you should not report a change unless you want to be reassessed sooner.
In your case your mobility component cannot be increased so there would only be a possible gain if your difficulties have increased to the extent that you might get an enhanced award of Daily Living.
You should not report the change unless you understand the PIP scoring system.

I have arthritis in both knees, severe in both hips and quite severe in spine (degenerative spine and bulging disc). Aswell as fatigue  depression and copd. Plus a couple of other things. However. My recent review gave standard on both parts 8 living 10 mobility with 10 year review. My previous (1st claim) was standard for living only. I did a m.r.  and received my reply yesterday-no change. Whilst I was awaiting result I had a hip replacement (2 weeks ago). I am still recovering (no great improvement yet) and I still have all the other issues. Now I'm scared to do an appeal. Do I have to tell them. I know they will say I'm fixed now.

That's very poor advice there. You should only report changes if it's possible to score more points for a higher award. A worsening of your health condition does not automatically mean you'll score more points for a higher award.

When reporting changes you'll be sent more forms to fill in and return with all your supporting evidence. Another assessment is most likely because most people have them.

Once a decision is made your award could either remain the same, be increased, decreased or even stopped completely.
