Good Morning
My telephone assessment was supposed to be at 9am this morning medacs rang at 9.23 to say the assessor from IAS had been held up with something and they would ring me later this morning.
I am now in full panic mode as I have not slept thinking about said assessment since i recieved the text message.
Why have they done this? Will it still be the same person if not will they have had time to read over my claim and understand.
At a total loss now my head is already burnt out enough without this added inconvenience.
Thanks

Unfortunately, this can and does happen. There's many reasons why they may not ring on time. However, I would have expected it to be something like between 9-11a. Rather than a specific time such as 9am. They usually do this because delays can happen. In the same way that if you were attending the assessment as a face to face, you may not be called exactly to time. Pretty much the same as a lot of appointments, such as hosptial or GP ect.It may not be the same person that rang to tell you it would be delayed. They should read your form before ringing. Hopefully, they will ring soon.

They have rang not entirely sure how it went. It's a mindfied and now another 8bweek wait for decision but I was honest as I could be about my conditions so hopefully she understood me.0

Glad it's now completed. Unfortunately, those 8 weeks can be up to 12 weeks once the report is returned to DWP.
