Mandatory Reconsideration

Hello everyone, 

I am currently going through the process of submitting a MR and wanted your advice on a few areas. 

Firstly, I was awarded 0 points on the daily living component as the DWP believed I had adequate motivation to perform daily tasks due to working full-time. I am appealing this as many of my claims have been overlooked. The question is, my circumstances changed during the assessment period and my hours were reduced to part time. I did confirm this on my medical assessment but the DWP have disregarded it. As of this week, I have been signed off and deemed unfit for work by my GP. 

Do I include this in the MR or do I need to report a change in circumstances? Struggling to understand which route I go down.

    For benefit purposes your GP can't deem you unfit for work. They can provide a fit note confirming your fitness to work. There's no harm in mentioning that you're no longer working because of your health condition. Although PIP isn't about your ability to work, people claim PIP and work. A lot of the time it's just another of those copy and paste reasons for not awarding points.

    Hi Poppy, thank you for your response. My apologies, my GP has signed me off as my condition has worsened in recent weeks
    and provided a fit note stating I am unfit for work at this time. No problem, so I just need to outline why I disagree with the points awarded and where I feel I should have received them, giving real life examples etc. I will mention the GP fit note, just wasn't sure whether I needed to report that as a change of circumstance? The main reason for me scoring 0 points was based on me working full-time you see. That was the decision makers findings. I will appeal and go from there. Thank you.
