Medication side effects.

Hello all, as well as explaining the difficulties caused by the health condition itself, is it worth highlighting the side effects of prescribed medications for your condition, as part of the process? For example I take morphine every day (as well as other medications), which impacts my ability to carry out several descriptors safely and regularly. Thanks in advance.

Heya @MrBrightside. If the side effects make an impact with any of the descriptors for the assessment, definitely put them down.1

Thank you Albus. I wasn't sure whether it was a given (by assessors) that taking morphine affects you in various ways.0

No worries at all. Personally, I've found it's better to write those things down and never assume the assessor will think the same way as you.1

I agree with Albus, never assume anything. Side effects are very different for everyone. Some may experience more than others. The most important part of any PIP claim is the form you fill in. The more information you give them the better it will be, providing the information is relevant. They do not need to know your life story. It's also important to include a couple of real world incidents of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each descriptor that applies to you. Adding detailed information such as wehre you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were.1

Thanks Poppy. That's a very good point about side effects being different for different people. Ta.0
