Good Evening All?
Im new to this.
I'm wanting to ask if anyone would beable to help me with answer's.
I applied for pip in end week of march 2023 had my assessment first week of June 2023 and called to see the assessor's report which I got and in fairness it was no different to what I initially answered to the questions as I have rheumatoid arthritis under specialist care needing steroids and suffer from anxiety which I take antidepressants for the condition leaves me bed bound no 2 days will be the same this has a affect on my mental health I totalled the points which were over 8 points for both parts. Also the gentleman carrying out the assessment was a paramedic and there was another assessor on call whilst having over the telephone consultation. On the assessor's report he has put to be reviewed in 1 year and 8 months. Can anyone advise me what this means when the caseworkers not made the decision.  Also the assessor's wrote i was confident showing no signs of anxiety i answered questions clearly.  Mentally i can clearly state my emotions to proffesionals however when im in that much increased pain my mood naturally changes.It's been 7 month's still hearing to wait I'm getting anxious due to the loss of income. Would anyone advise how long the caseworker takes to decide.

    For a standard award in either daily living and/or mobility you need to score at least 8 points. For Enhanced you need to least 12 points.

    The report is the assessors opinion based on everything you wrote in the form, any extra evidence you sent and what you said during the assessment.

    At the back of the report the assessment will recommend when to review your claim, usually the decision maker will add 1 year to that, which will give your award length. (If there’s an award) 

    Mostly they go with the report but it has been known for them to go against it but this is rare. 

    Timescales for decisions is usually up to 12 weeks after the report was returned to DWP. Yours does seem to be taking rather a long time. One thing that can delay the decision is if the report was delayed being returned because it was in an audit. 

    Have you rang PIP to ask for an update recently? If you haven’t then I’d advise you to do that.
