Hi, I've been going through the pip process got refused at first then done a mandatory reconsideration and was awarded standard rate daily living but I believe I am entitled to more so have appealed to go to tribunal. The dwp had until the 15th October to respond and I had a telephone call last week just asking what questions I wanted to appeal. I recieved a text yesterday from hmcts saying that the dwp have responded and a hearing will need to be booked etc. My question is does this mean the dwp are letting it go to tribunal? As I've seen people comment about receiving phone calls and being offered higher rates so it doesn't go to tribunal. Does the text message mean its defo going to tribunal or isit just a generic message?

Hi @mrgall3392 - yes, that just means you will be proceeding to a tribunal. The DWP haven't changed their decision, which is quite usual. Sometimes the DWP do make an offer before a tribunal, which then doesn't take place. Even if an offer is made beforehand, it usually means the DWP think the claimant would get a higher or longer award, or both, if it went to a tribunal. It will likely just be a standard text you received letting you know the DWP have responded, but it's still going to a tribunal.0

Hiya,
Yes it will need to go to tribunal now as the dwp haven't changed their decision about the MR. Its a very genetic system as lady said above and its a normal text message to receive. You should receive the copy of the DWP paperwork in a few weeks from the court which you will need to keep in a safe place and take it to a tribunal with you.
On the paperwork it will state the dwp asking the judge to reconsider this appeal so don't be alarmed because it says that on every claim I think for tribunal.0 -
Thankyou for both your responses and help, hopefully a tribunal date doesn't take too long but I'm not expected it yo be sorted this side of Christmas.0

Hi so I'm currently appealing to a tribunal regarding my belief that I have been marked wrong for descriptor 9 and 10.
Firstly can someone tell me if debt letters to me will be classed as some sort of evidence where I'm arguing I'm unable to make budgeting decisions due to impulsiveness I suffer with and spend money I don't really have or am unable to repay.
Secondly does someone know how true it is that the 2019 law change by the supreme court does now count prompting as a sort of social support for engaging with other people.
I would appreciate some advice on this
