I am going into hospital for spinal surgery the beginning of December. I have sent my review form back as my pip is due to run out in March . Pip have known since I applied and got pip I've had problems with the spine. What I would like to know is two things. Will the surgery be taking into consideration for this review or will I have to make a seperate claim. Thanks.

Hi @desbo2710 Hope you're doing well today!
Have you mentioned your surgery or how it will affect you on your latest review?
If you think it will affect your circumstances you might have to report it as a change nearer the time, but hopefully some of our members will be along shortly to share their experiences and give you some more solid advice0 -
My form was sent back a few months ago. I was only told yesterday after a third mri scan in September of my lower spine this time that I'm been admitted for surgery December. I'm waiting for the letter from the neuro surgeon to confirm the surgery. I have an email to confirm admission but prefer it on paper.0

You can't make a seperate claim becauase you're already claiming PIP. You don't need to report any changes because you're currently going through a review. You just need to wait for progress on your review.

Should I send in everything regarding letters etc from neuro surgeon before they make a decision? After surgery I have to get extra aids and physiotherapy0

I think it's only natural to need extra help for a while after surgery. However, for PIP part of the criteria is that you must expect the dfifficulties to last at least a further 9 months so there could be issues with that with regards to the surgery. Usually they do surgery to help improve your health conditions.I think you need to see how your health conditions are in the months after surgery.0
