Hi I get LCWRA and uc I’m thinking of going back to work 6 hours aweek as I just can’t manage on benifits ,I wud be doing a lighter job than before sitting down,so it’s light duties and very reduced hours as I’m normally full time ,would this stop my lcwra and do I need to tell them as my pay wud go straight to uc thanks

    If you start working you need to report a change of circumstances on your journal and tell them you're working.

    Your LCWRA element will continue as normal. You have the work allowance which means that a certain amount of earnings can be received each month before the 55% deductions apply. If you claim for help with the rent then your work allowance will be £379/month, if you don't then it will be £631/month.     Do be aware though that if the work you do contradicts the reasons why you were found to have LCWRA then it may go against you when you have your next review.

    Your earnings will not go to UC, they will be your earnings but anything over the work allowance amount then your UC will be reduced by 55%.
