Hello everyone sorry I am new to this I have made a new claim to pip and today recieved a phone call to call if I am okay with a large amount of money going into my account and also confirmed correct bank details. I asked the lady if this means I have been awarded my pip and what was the award she said that a desicion has not yet been made. This has made me really anxious as it sounds like I have been awarded but I am unsure has anyone else had similar experience, thanks.

When did you make your claim?

Usually that can be a question they ask before making a payment. As there hasn’t been a decision made yet then they are probably just asking in preparation. We’ve had members that have been awarded after this and some that haven’t. Once a decision is made you will be contacted .0

Hi I made my claim on 13th of July I had my telephone assessment of the 16th of October a text the next day the 17th October to say they have recieved my assessment then a random call today the 25th from 0800 number which I missed, they sent a text to say this is from personal independence can you please call us back regarding your pip claim between 12pm til 4pm by today
I done this and a call advisor said it was the assesor asking if I am okay to handle a large some of money in my bank account and also to confirm they had the correct bank details. I asked if my claim had been successfull but the lady said I cannot say you will recieve a text in the next few days? I am so anxious now my head feels like it's going to explode this whole process is so nerve racking I just pray to god I get some good news. Thanks everybody for listening as I don't have anyone else.

It wouldn't have been the assessor that rang you because they have nothing to do with PIP decisions or making payments. You just need to wait for the decision, which can be up to 12 weeks after the report was returned.

Okay that's fine she did not say it was the assesor she said it was the person who was making the decision on my claim who tried to contact me the person I spoke with was just a normal call advisor etc but told me why they had tried to call.. Okay no prob sounds strange for upto 12 weeks after someone asking if I'm okay with accepting large some of money in my account and asking if bank details are correct I'm trying to stay positive but okay thanks for your input anyway I have read alot of different people's experiences on here with the same a what I've been told so hopefully it is alot more like what they have all said.0

Yes, they tell everyone up to 8 weeks but we advise up to 12 but it can be anything up to that timescale. Some receive the decision within a few weeks, some several and others longer.
