Housing benefit reviews

I have been reading up a lot about housing benefit and reviews as currently experiencing this. I was in receipt of hb as I was on ESA support group. I received confirmation of new rates in July, as I would be state pension age in august. 2 days after reaching state pension age, my hb was suspended and has remained so for 9 weeks. They say there is a back log as September is a very busy time for reviews. I have read on one of the helpline websites that if already in receipt of hb before May 2019 and already have an existing claim this will not change once you reach pension age. Confusing?

It needs to be recalculated once you reach state pension age. Did you contact your local MP as I advised on your other thread? If you haven’t then I’d advise you again to do that. https://www.parliament.uk/about/contacting/mp/ They will contact your local Authority on your behalf. You will need to give your full name and address.0

No I haven’t. Having spoken to housing again, they say as September is a busier time it’s taking longer. They are dealing with cases from beginning of September now. The arrears will be settled once it’s reviewed. I just get anxious about these things. Thank you again for your reply0
