DWP awarded me 14% disablement. The problem is the award ended 4 days after the date of my assessment. I am not happy about the award length because I feel it should be longer.

As with all benefits you can challenge that decision by first requesting the MR. Assuming the decision was made within the last 13 months.0

I had a total of 7 x 1 year reviews/awards starting in 1996. It started at the 70% rate and then went down to 40%. My last review was in 2004 which failed when they decided that I had no issues!
Unfortunately I did not appeal against that as in 2004/5 I spent time under section in a secure unit at the hospital.
It took until 2011 before I recovered enough to get to grips with the benefit system.
I had another review/assessment in 2011 which was also nil. I sent in a MR and after 6 months of coming and going with letters and discussions. They re-awarded me at 40% for life and with the evidence I also sent in going back to 2004/5 they agreed that it be back dated to Feb 2004. Unfortunately whilst I was looking for the 7 years + back pay they told me that they could not pay it as I had not lodged an appeal against the 2004/5 decision. Being locked away and high on anti psychotics etc meant nothing to them.
Good luck in your journey with the Bradford IIDB Dept!!0
