You will just go round and round in circles asking the helpline because you will get different answers every time you ask.
Poppy has given you the best advice1 -
Is it worth me putting another comment on the journal asking again or leave it until Monday0
-
I'm just worried if I keep asking that it won't help the situation0
-
Sorry I've no advice, just wanted to say I hope you get sorted ok. My own situation is that I couldn't get to the job centre now if they wanted me to. Can't they change your appointment to a telephone one? When I had the LCWRA one, twice I was sent an appointment to attend my local centre. And twice I rang them to explain that because of my severely compromised mobility( basically,my walkings gone) , chronic pain and my incontinence I can't leave the house. I think I've probably got some sort of anxiety starting as well now anyway
I asked for a home visit so they could see how I am but didn't get one. I did get a phone appointment and that was ok.
In your situation I would ring them and explain your situation. And maybe put a note on your journal to the same effect
Have you had the UC50 forms yet? Might be worth asking if not
To repeat, I hope you get sorted0 -
I'm agreeing with the others here, you'll need to do things via your UC journal. Just emphasise why you need it via phone and you need it as a reasonable adjustment.0

I requested that as soon as I had notification but immediately got a reply saying commitments review meetings are usually held in a job centre0

Poppy has given you the best adviceTotally agree with this. The helpline will highly likely only do what you can do and put a message onto your journal. My best advice is to put in a complaint. Please see the link i posted earlier in the thread. You can also requet a different work coach if you're not happy with your existing one. When exactly did you provide your first fit note? You won't be sent the form until they refer you for the assessment. Once they do that you'll receive a letter on your journal telling you they've referred you. A few days later you will receive the UC50 form in the post.0 -
I sent my first fit note yesterday. I've never had to provide a fit note before, it's rather confusing why they are asking for one now. The fit note covers for three months, my doctor said that he couldn't understand why they are asking for this. Originally I was told I had to send three separate fit notes however as my doctor says this is something I'm not going to get over, I posted the fit note as told to on the UC. Within an hour I'd been referred for a work capability assessment. I then get a message from the work coach saying this has no relevance to the meeting and that I still need to attend.0

How do I request a different work coach?0
-
Fits notes are needed to start the work capability assessment process off. Without those they can't refer you. You don't need 3 separate ones when you first provide it but you will need to continue to send them without any gaps until a decision is made on your work capability assessment. Gaps in your fit notes can affect when the extra money is paid from if you're found to have LCWRA.Did you actually "report a change of circumstances" and then click "health condition" on your journal and report it through there? When you do that it will ask you for details of the fit note.Usually when you provide a fit note they will ask you to provide the details of it and keep it, incase they ask to see it. As you have access to a journal i don't understand why you were asked to post it to them. The UC50 form is here. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/uc50-form-universal-credit-capability-for-work-questionnaire You can use this one and fill it in and print it off, if you have a printer. Please do not send it until you receive the form in the post. If you do that they will ignore it.To request a new work coach you can put a message onto your journal to ask for the manager to contact you when they are available. When you're contacted explain to them that you would like a new work coach and your reasons why. I think not allowing a reasonable adjustment as a telephone appointment is good enough reason to want to change.

When my PIP review paperwork came I filled it all in and sent it back but also telephoned to explain the agoraphobia and panic disorder and they said that if it did go to interview that I could request a phone call. I know it's a different department but it's still DWP and they should have the same rules for both0

Thanks everyone for your kind comments and help.1

@Albus_Scope, yes I will do. 🤞I will actually be able to speak to someone who will listen. Surely there's laws around mental health which they have to abide by?!0
-
There are @Jonathan77, if they don't acknowledge your request for reasonable adjustments due to your disability, they'll be going against the Equality Act 2010.0

Hello @Jonathan77. Just to let you know, I've edited your screenshot to remove your name and location.
I'm really pleased to read that they have changed this to a telephone appointment for you.0 -
Thank you. Yes sorry I realised as soon as I'd posted it that I hadn't edited.0
