Car hoist for small hatchback

Hi informed folks,
My Mother (mid 70s) is currently lugging my Father's wheelchair in and out of their Mazda 2 back seats as she is unable to lift it high enough for the boot.
It is a small hatchback car, and I am struggling to find any kind of hoist that would work with it.
Mum stuffers from sciatica, so realllllly needs a solution.
Anyone got any knowledge that may help?

Thanks for the input, I have considered a ramp but that again requires pushing it upwards.. not ideal. It may come to that though but was hoping that some folks here may have insight.0

Hello @DottyBIrd
Welcome to the community!Have you look on Motability? They have a lot of information on different hoists as well as a chat function, if you need any more support
Hopefully they will be able to help advise!

Unfortunately my parents are in the 70s and not able to access the mobility scheme.
I can't find anything on the site you provided that gives details of different hoists and what they are capable of being fitted into.0 -
Oh that's a shame, I'd hoped they'd have more information with the chat function.
The only other out of the box idea I have, is if you know anyone who is a carer? If they could source any information or who would be best to talk to? As they may have come across someone who needing the same information?0 -
No, unfortunately unless you qualify for Mobility scheme they are not interested. Dad get attendance allowance but that doesn't have a mobility scheme entitlement.
Sigh ill keep trying places i guess. lol0
