I've read a few things and my condition hasn't changed I still struggle every day have more bad than good days as before I have self harmed recently i had a crisis i don't socialise don't have friends really apart from 1  i don't leave the house without my mum she goes  to all my  appointments i do  try go for walks etc with my dog but it's got to be quiet with nobody around   i don't like public transport it gives me panic atracks still it's all the same basically so should I leave all the hospital trips and this appointment to see my neurologist out incase it  affects my pip  as non of the hospital trips are connected to my illness apart from the chest pains which was a major panic attack as such and ive not been diagnosed with anything else apart from depression and anxiety also do they have my original form or award as I've lost my award so no clue what the assessor said

Hi @peachypie, welcome to the community. Hope you're doing well today.

Try not to focus too much on what you are diagnosed with, PIP are more interested in how your conditions or symptoms affect your everyday life based on certain descriptors. You can put anything onto your form that you think affects you day-to-day, but it's good to put plenty of detail and examples of what would happen if you did certain things.

Scope have some information about writing PIP claims that you might find useful to read through. It gives you an idea about how to answer the questions to match the descriptors.

You could also try ringing the PIP enquiries line to see if they might be able to send you a copy of your original award and go from there :)

Do you get any support for your mental health at the moment?

I've got my gp  but I've tried talking to people this hasn't really helped if anything brought more trauma up and I just want it to go away but mental health is so draining

In my opinion I can’t see how seeing a copy of your current award will help. You can ring them to ask when your current award is due to end if you want. Though it will continue anyway until a decision is made on the review, which could take quite some time.

When you ring them you can also ask for some extra time to return it and they will give an extra couple of weeks.

There’s also a guide here on how to fill out a PIP review form. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/pip/pip-changes-and-reviews/help-with-your-pip-review-form/

Just do a little at a time and write notes before you actually write in the form so you can read the notes before attempting the actual form.

The most important part of any PIP claim is filling out the form. Give a couple of real world examples of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each descriptor that applies to you. Then add detailed information such as where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were.

Make sure you write your name and NI number on everything you send and only send copies, not originals.

That's fair enough @peachypie, I understand what you mean when you say mental health can be draining, especially when you have to keep explaining yourself to different people and bringing up trauma.

If you're ever feeling really down and don't feel like talking on the phone, you could perhaps try texting Shout. They have volunteers who will chat things through with you by text with no judgement. How Shout 85258 works | Shout 85258 (giveusashout.org

If you call the PIP enquiries line they may not be able to send a letter out too quickly, but they might at least be able to tell you when your award ends. It's worth a try if you feel up to it :)

What if my award ends before they do my  review  confused and what if they say ive improved will they just end my claim I'm just gunna write as much as I can and what I struggle with everyday good or bad the best I can it's just different everyday with mental health and health aniexty and panick attacks  its a nightmare they will probably say ive improved a bit as i try go out more with my mum as i couldnt hardly do this over a year ago that the only thing though so i will probably loose anyway im expecting it I will just copy everything I've written on my phone and rewrite it to put away safe and wait and see nothing much more I can do now I may ask for a longer time as I'm not very well so not in the right mind set to go through everything properly yet

Your award will continue until a decision is made on the review, it’s the same for everyone. Once a decision is made that decision will overrule your current award.

This will help you to to see the points you could get for each descriptor

Some don’t need an assessment, but I believe that is rare. This is known as paper based assessment.
