Ongoing PIP award and AR1 form

I am extremely concerned and confused.
few weeks back I received a message from DWP thanking me for letting them know about a change in my health and that a reassessment form is on the way.

I called them straight away and the lady said it’s a standard review form and did not explain anything regarding me not reporting the change, which I clearly didn’t.

I know recently for ongoing awards they started doing a light touch reviews.

I received the form and it’s once more thanking me for letting them know that my health has changed and to complete an AR1 form.

i am on ongoing 10 year award. My award runs out in 2026. Shouldn’t I have gotten the light touch AR2 form instead? 

I am honestly panicking at this point.

    I'd try contacting them again, as there seems to be some confusion here if you hadn't reported a 'Change of circumstances,' explaining you have an ongoing award which was just going to be checked to see if your needs had changed in 2026.

    I would certainly contact PIP again like chiarieds advised.  If you get no further with the PIP helpline then this is a problem that your local MP might be able to sort out for you. They are in a better position to communicate directly with the DWP on your behalf. You can search for your local MP contact details here https://members.parliament.uk/members/Commons if you want to write a letter or contact them in person. If you want to contact them online then you can use this site here https://www.writetothem.com Both sites require you to input your Postcode and it will search for your local MP allowing you to contact them. You must include your home address and postcode to confirm that you are in there constituancy and information to do with your PIP application like your National Insurance number etc for them to help you.

    I just hate what they keep putting us through! I sighed with relief when they introduced the light touch review, but now they decided to put me through all the stress again and right after my life saving transplant.

    UPDATE
    called PIP, no explanation as to the wrong header of the letter 
    was told regardless of the ongoing award they can reassess anyone at any point

    I feel that it’s extremely unfair and misleading. From one side they make you believe for 10 years you won’t be reviewed and if you will be it’s light touch. From another they do whatever they please

    I agree they can review you at anytime. What does concern me though is that the letter you received says "you reported changes" but you didn't. So who did report the changes? If it was me then i'd be contacting my local MP to tell them what's happened and explain to them that you didn't report any changes.
