DLA to PIP when is the next payment?

Hello I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas. Would it please be possible for someone to help me work out when the next payment is due as I'm a little confused.

Child is changing from DLA to PIP after turning 16 earlier this year. 

On Tuesday 5th December they received their normal DLA payment (high care, low mobility) so would expect their next payment to be 2nd January.

But the letter we were sent on 16th December says they've been awarded high care high mobility PIP from 17th January 2024 until January 2034.

"Your next payment will be paid into your usual account on 8 February 2024. This is money we owe you from 17 Jan 2024 to 7th February 2024. We will then pay into your usual account every 4 weeks on a Thursday."

So what happens to our January payment? And if we're still to receive it, will it be the old DLA rate? Or a partial payment?

    You will receive one final payment for the DLA and then the PIP payment will be on 8th Feb.
