Any blood loss could be due to ulcers, bulges, polys, inflammatory bowel disease, haemorrhoids (piles). swallowed blood from bleeding gums or nosebleeds. It could also be early bowel cancer. Perhaps you should ask for another colonoscopy. You are obviously worried about this so I understand you are seeing your GP in two weeks time you should bring this up again. I had an MRI for the small bowel after I had had a colonoscopy and 4 polyps removed. Good luck I hope you soon get this resolved.0

A colonoscopy only checks a short length of the bowels (the rectum) - which was clear of any polyps etc - last time that I was checked
My problem appears to be further up the 'tube'
A fit test only checks for blood at that particular moment

Can ultrasound scans actually detect polyps in the bowels or not ?
The Dr who did my scan, 3 months ago told me that they are not
But I have just read a website that tells me that they can0 -

A fit test only checks for blood at that particular momentIt’s a sigmoidoscopy that only check the last part of colon .A scan will not detect a polyp , it’s a colonoscopy that’s the gold standard for polyps/ growths .That's what the Dr who did my US scan said but https://www.emedicinehealth.com/do_polyps_show_on_ultrasound/article_em.htm says differentlyI am confusedI have had at least 6 sigmoidoscopies in the last 12 years
