A colonoscopy only checks a short length of the bowels (the rectum) - which was clear of any polyps etc - last time that I was checked
My problem appears to be further up the 'tube'
A fit test only checks for blood at that particular moment 

A colonoscopy checks the whole of the large colon, from the rectum all the way up , that’s why you have sedation . I’ve had 3 colonoscopies and the last one , a small polyp was found so I need another to remove it . 

It’s a sigmoidoscopy that only check the last part of colon . 

A scan will not detect a polyp , it’s a colonoscopy that’s the gold standard for polyps/ growths .
