Morning, how's your day going so far?

It is quite busy this morning isn't it!
I saw your comment @Ada about worrying you'd upset Sandy because she wasn't around. I just wanted to say my mind can do the same thing. I can make up and assume I've slighted someone if they aren't around, when really they were just doing something else! It can be a hard thought cycle to break, I know from my own experience.
Also, while carpet can be nice on the toes I still prefer wooden floors. I tend to wear slippers around the house anyway. Our current place is mostly carpet, at least the kitchen and bathroom aren't like I've seen in some places!
Enjoy your lunches everyone!1 -
Haha, I definitely lurk from time to time @66Mustang! And sometimes take part in the games when I can
It's been a busy time of planning for 2024 over the past few months, but I'll have some new campaigns stuff to share with you all soon. Especially with there being a general election this year. Which has reminded me that there's actually something I can share with you all now... Brb- see you in disability rights and campaigning
I hope you're all doing well, and are coping with the cold weather okay. I've got my fake Oodie on, sipping a nice warm coffee. But my fingers are still a bit icy ❄️4 -

We only have carpet in one bedroom and on the attic stairs @Jimm_Scope,I like floors I can wash.1

Funnily enough my Dad just this weekend borrowed an industrial carpet cleaner, better than the ones you rent from the supermarkets, and cleaned all of our carpets.
It works by depositing fluid, which is 98% water with a dash of some cleaning solution in it, onto the carpet and then sucking it back up again.
The fluid was clear when it went in the machine...when he emptied the machine it was opaque, a horrible dark grey-brown. It made us feel quite sick knowing how dirty the carpets were.
It made me a bit glad that when I got to choose the flooring when I had my bedroom done a few years ago I chose wood!2 -
Just back from the shop, as needed kitchen roll and a few things, I can confirm it is absolutely freezing outside. The frost hasn't even melted away. Topped with a North wind 💨.
I put heating heating on before I went and put my snuggy top on radiator for when I got back2 -
I might have to go to shops later, my online order has 6 things missing cos I said no substitutes.....1

I understand not wanting substitutes though. I briefly worked as a pick and packer and policy was to pick ANYTHING to substitute even if it made no sense. The managers had targets to hit and we'd get admonished if we failed to substitute something unless it specifically said 'no substitutes'. I once saw someone get a candle instead of the body wash they asked for because it had the same scents.

That's one of the better substitutes I've heard of @Sandy_123 :P At least they're both edible!
@Ada You should be warm too though, our Energy Support team can be reached via email if you cannot call them. They can try to get you support with the energy bills.0 -

Wood is much easier to keep clean @66Mustang! Me and my partner prefer wood, as I think @Teigr mentioned, you can wash them easily without such a machine.2
