REVIEW: Doesn't make sense

How does the PIP review makes sense, if you provide information today, and it takes so long for DWP to process it? I read people here wait on average 12 months, that's ridiculous isn't it? What I'm putting on the review form today, can easily change after a year or so. It seems to me this part of the system is terribly broken.

Most people have assessments so if there's been any changes you can tell them during that assessment. Or you can send additional evidence at anytime to support your claim.

Still, in my opinion, this should be faster than 12 months. The way it is, makes no sense at all. If its like that, they should book an assessment and give you a timeframe, before that assessment, to send your evidence. Sending now, more in the middle, tell them on the assessment, etc is a mess. Even worse in my case, i got the form with just 8 days to return it, or I will lose my award. I had to make several attempts and spent 2 hours to speak to someone and they sound totally unreliable to trust they noted the extension to get my review form.
The system is flawed all over.1 -
I agree that there are problems. Getting to a review shouldn't take so long. The backlog, like many public bodies waitlists, has become much worse over the past years. Personally, I think the long waits can be what get to people.0

Listen to Poppy's advise, I had my assessment yesterday just over a year after sending my review form. I told the assessor that things had changed since i sent the form and he said that most people have symptom and medication changes. I would say the assessment is the best place to share changes as they can be explained in detail.0
