Good evening all,
I have my ESA telephone assessment tomorrow afternoon. I am worried sick. Please can anyone advise on the types of questions asked? Any questions people remember from theirs ?

I will have someone with me, will they be allowed to answer for me?
After my previous PIP assessments they worry the hell out of me.
Any tips or example questions would massively help.

Good evening @morr12, I have no experience of the ESA assessment but I was wanting to pick your brain as to how long it’s took you to get to this point. I transferred end of September to new style esa, returned the work capability questionnaire which they recieved November 6th and as yet heard nothing, I get the work coach call and it’s a quick “hi, give you had you’re assessment , I reply no, and then it’s a we will call you again in 8 weeks “ . I’m with you on the fact as I claim it the PIP assessment was daunting enough. I wish you all the love and strength for tomorrow .0

Everyone’s assessment will be different and what questions they ask will depend on how your conditions affect you. For this reason it’s not possible to tell you what questions they will ask you.If you can put your phone onto loud speaker the person with you will be able to help you through the assessment. The best person to answer the questions would be you because you are the only person that really knows how your conditions affect you.
If you don’t understand the question you can ask them to repeat it. Try not to answer any questions with just a yes or no and try to give as much detail as possible.Once it’s completed and the report is returned a decision can take up to about 12 weeks.0 -
@morr12, sorry bit of background I don’t if mine is taking longer as I’m currently still employed .. I’m on ESA as my SSP came to an end . My work coach at the initial commitment agreement added “my job is currently open to me”. But my employer referred me to occupational health and I’ve had my MOHA, and the outcome by the independent occupational health doctor for my employer was that I would be unfit for work for the foreseeable future. Im currently waiting on my employers response to this and how they Will procedure with me .0

@poppy123456 thank you
@gigi77 hi, I sent my form off early December and had a letter with appointment early January0 -
Heya @morr12, I don't have anything to add to the top advice, but I just wanted to say best of luck for today, just remember to stay calm and things will be fine. Let us know how you get on.0

@Albus_Scope thank you. The lady was a nurse. She seemed lovely. The conversation lasted 25 minutes. Now just to wait for a letter1

I'm very glad to hear it was quick and relatively painless @morr12. I've always found the waiting to be the worst bit. Keep us updated if you're able to.0

@Albus_Scope thank you. Do you have any idea on when I can call for a copy of the report?0

Give it at least a few days to make sure it’s returned because they won’t send it to you until it’s been returned.
