Hi everyone sorry this is kinda of a long question,hope I make it clear ! Nov 21- my 1st fit note ,this went on till Dec 22,when deemed fit when assessed! DWP said a don't need anymore fit notes. There was a bit of delay,which was fine,so I put in for MR in Sept  23,starting putting in fit notes again,just to prove on going ( which coach didn't except ) which was normal cause I had been assessed on condition. Just had my appeal and won Lcwra,which obviously I'm delighted.So main question is financial 1 ,am I correct in sayin I'll be backdated to 13weeks after 1st sick line.... I think this date is April 22

    Good news. The waiting period is 3 full assessment periods after you first reported your health condition/provided your first fit note. It's then paid from the 4th month, with first payment being the end of the 4th month. 13 weeks applies to ESA, not UC.

    Based on the information you gave your first payment will be either March or April 2022. The exact date will depend on the answers to the following questions.

    1/ What date exactly did you report your health condition/provide your first fit note?
    2/ What date do you usually receive your money each month?

    Hi poppy thanks for answer,extra info was 3rd Dec 21 was my 1st fit note ..and I am usually receiving my basic UC fortnightly ,for example got half on 25 Jan and get other half on 8th Feb. I also believe that DWP have 1 month to appeal the tribunals outcome only if they think an error in law has happened.. the way they operate im not counting my chickens before they have hatched

    Thanks. That means your assessment periods are 19th to 18th of every month. 

    Your waiting period will be Dec 2021 to March 2022… LCWRA starts from 19th March to 18th April and first payment will be 25th April 2022.

    It can take up to about 8 weeks after a Tribunal decision to put the award into payment and to pay what is owed. Money owed will be paid separately to your usual payments. 

    Yes, they can only appeal a decision on error of law. First they need to request the statement of reasons and record of proceedings within 1 month of the date of the decision. They rarely do this to be honest.

    Lol a forgot to ask hopefully simpler questions. Will dwp update my journal with latest info as job centre still making me go to appointments and keep fit note up to date, because they need in writing,or should I take my decision letter with me .

    It will be updated at some point. You will be asked to agree to your claimant commitments, which will be to just agree to report any changes. 

    After a Tribunal win it can take up to 8 weeks for all this to happen. 

    Just to add further before they pay what is owed they will need to recalculate your past statements to work out how much you’ve already been paid, against what you should have been paid. You will then receive the difference between the 2. 

    Once this is done you’ll receive a letter in your journal telling you how much is owed and it will then be paid into your bank.

    The new statements will replace your existing ones so you may want to takes copies of those now.

    Yeah it's a long old process,I don't think I was getting anything off them,I was only getting£171 per every 2 weeks(recently went up) this is cause I had some savings ) so roughly was I think £150 ish per every 2 weeks,does this make sense to u

    It will depend on what your maximum UC entitlement is. As you’re paid twice a month it means that your payments are split into 2 equal payments. 

    There’s a deduction of £4.35/month for every £250 or part thereof over £6,000.

    Hi pal yes poppy helped me out,the only thing I'm unsure of ,I think I should of been getting (latest is£390 ) extra a month,bit less last year,so aye should be a fair amount ....Never give up ....

    The LCWRA element is £390.06/month from the April 2023 increase. It would have been less than that before the increase. 

    Therefore the money they owe you will include both tax year amounts.
