I wouldn't expect your ESA to automatically increase because your mum is no longer receiving payment for carers allowance. There wouldn't have been any deductions for this because ESA is your benefit, not your mums.

Do you live alone or with your parents? If alone are you claiming a disability benefit such as PIP/ADP daily living or DLA mid/high rate care?

If with your parents (or just mum) does she also claim one of the disability benefits mentioned above?

Then your ESA will be New style ESA and this will not increase. Although your mum would no longer receive payment for carers allowance if her state pension is more than the carers allowance, she will still have an underlying entitlement to it.

This could mean there's some entitlement to Pension Credit as the carers premium will be included in the calculation. (assuming she either lives alone or if living with a partner they must both be state pension age and above) Is she claiming Pension Credit?

If she cancels the carers allowance completely then your partner can claim carers element of UC for looking after you. This will increase your maximum UC entitlement to £186.85/month. By doing this your mum will lose the underlying entitlement to carers allowance.

    Hello @nickh

I see Poppy has helped with your query, I just wanted to check in. You said your mum who was your carer and just wanted to double check you are getting any support needed? :)

@nickh Maybe I have read it wrong, you said "my mum who was my carer" and wanted to make sure that you were still being supported :) Or do you mean was because she cannot claim due to pension age? But still supports you?

As you're claiming UC and ESA your ESA will not be Income Based because that's impossible. Your ESA will be New style ESA and not means tested like Income Based.
