Can I claim Carers Element for Husband who gets LCWRA

My husband suffers from severe Mental Health issues,OCD & other medical issues.He has been awarded LCWRA & I'm his carer so would I be able to claim the Carers Element? I work 16 hours so I earn too much for Carers allowance!

For you to be able to claim carers element your husband would need to be claiming a qualifying disability benefit such as either daily living PIP/ADP or DLA mid/high rate care.
Him claiming LCWRA doesn't entitle you to carers element.1 -
That's what I thought, I'm not sure he's upto going through the PIP process at this time & worried how it would affect his Mental Health even more! Thanks0

It is a stressful process for everyone, even for those that don't generally suffer from mental health. The criteria for carers element is the same as carers allowance, apart from there's no earnings limit to carers element like there is with carers allowance.1
