Hi all, new here. I’ve been reading through the posts regarding pip renewal and it looks like I have the same issue as many of you.
my pips is due for renewal this March, same time as my blue badge.
I sent back the forms in July, received a txt about a month ago saying they still are waiting to to. Process.
It’s really worrying , wondering if you’re going to get any money next month…just waiting for the postman. If you haven’t been asked to go to an assessment is that a bad sign?
im also concerned that if my pips aren’t renewed , nor will my blue badge which is also a life saver. Worrying times…

Reviews have backlogs which is huge in a lot of areas. Your current PIP award will continue until a decision is made on the review. Most people have assessments so you'll likely need one of those. These are mostly done by telephone but some are either by video call or face to face at an assessment centre. If an assessment is needed then you'll be contacted. For your blue badge, if a decision hasn't been be about 1 month before your PIP is supposed to end then ring PIP and ask if they can send proof of your PIP being extended so you can renew your BB. If the work happens and you are refused once the decision is made you can still apply for the BB but evidence will be needed.1

IMO the op should be able to use the EXPIRED PIP award to validate their BB , although this may not be recognized by the LA it is common sense where no improvement is likely or proven ?I can't see any local Authority allowing an expired PIP award for them to automatically qualify. They won't even accept a PIP award letter if it's dated more than a year ago, they will usually ask for a letter that's dated within a year.I had the same problem when my PIP was extended during Covid, so had to ring to ask them to send me proof of my extended award, which they did.0 -

If you need extra time to return the form you can contact PIP and they will give and extra couple of weeks. There's also a guide here to filling out the form which may help.https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/pip/pip-changes-and-reviews/help-with-your-pip-review-form/You can also speak to an advice agency near you to see if they can help with the forms.https://advicelocal.uk/welfare-benefits
