Scope is carrying out research about employment for disabled people with high support needs. To do this, we are interviewing disabled people with high support needs about their experiences of applying for work and accessing support while in work. We are recruiting people who:
- Consider themselves to be a disabled person with high support needs.
- Are either:
- o Currently in work
- o Not currently working, but looking for work
- o Not currently working or actively seeking work, but has worked in the past.
- Are aged 16-64.
- Live in England or Wales.
Interviews will be held in November and December 2016 and at a location that best suits each interviewee.
Interviewees will receive a £10 Amazon gift voucher for their time.
If you or anyone you know would be interested in taking part or want more information, please contact Scope’s Researcher Andy McKeown on 0207 619 7245 or at andy.mckeown@scope.org.uk.

I hate life,I'd be better off dead, but I'm too much of a coward to kill myself,so I get up every morning and go through another pointless day of my pointless life. The annoying thing is my life needn't've been like this,I was a talented sculpture,I was offered a place atb The Sir Hennry Doulton School Of Sculpture, but they were full,I would have to wait a year,I waited 6 months, then they went bankrupt as a result of the recession, the bankers who caused the recession got a bail out,if the government had bailed out Doultons the school wouldn@t've closed and I wouldn@t be sitting here wishing I were dead,I'd be leading a wonderful life,I looked up people who completed the course, they're all living the life I would be living,if only I see a psychiatrist and got on the meds sooner I'd've done the course sooner and graduated before the recession, why didn't I see a psychiatrist and start on meds a few years sooner? Now I'll never have a day's happiness if I live to be 100,I've wasted my life,I feel very bitter, the government bailed the bankers out and flushed my life down the toilet.0

My psychiatrist keeps trying to persuade me to go in for therapy, but what's the point,I'm too old to turn my life around and become successful,I'm a failure,I'll be a failure till the day I die,I'd be better off dead, maybe one day I'll Simon up the courage to go to the car park on the roof of the shopping centre and jump, but I doubt it,I'll probably go on living till I die of natural causes, how will talking about where life went wrong nfor me help. It,'s not like the manager giving his soccer team a post match analasys, they get to play again next week,I,'all never get another life,I had one life to live and I wasted it,I just need to be so heavily medicated I forget what a pointless waste my existence is.0
